After rest of four years, finally I am going back to school. But this didn’t came easily:

Started from not accepting – in 2006, I did not accepted Brain Korea Fund offered by a Korean university for Master of Engineering.

After then, I keep applying for Erasmus Mundus fund and they keep on rejecting my application.

In search of alternative universities, I exchange 200+ emails corresponding. But still didn’t find best fit.

Evaluating MCA/MBA offering in some finest engineering colleges from Bangalore and changed mind not to go India.

The best thing is that, I learnt so many things that no universities can teach in this period of four years – working with people from different background, culture, country and being pain in ass on the problem which I know no right solution.

Finally checking option in Nepalese colleges, Ace become my choice:

Executive MBA, designed to best fit to working managers like me.

Evening shifts class, that still allow me work and earn a million box (haa).

Ranked best in country.

And, I hope it will enhance managerial skill and help to acheive entrepreneurial desire.

Till date, I am still using WordPress 2.9. Today just got thought to upgrade to WordPress 3.0. It really surprise me that upgrade process amazingly easy, it just happened in one click and nothing is broken (Goto WordPress Admin -> Click on update link -> Select auto-update). There’s no doubt that WordPress 3.0 way better then earlier version. Among lot of newly introduced features, I like:

Menu Management

Multi-site

Taxnomy

Custom type post

See complete guide http://bit.ly/9Glcuh (Although none of above are really use of mine so far)

I always used to think way to aggregate comments (of post) which spread throughout different social network. Later, I found some nice tools like DISQUS, Echo, IntenseDebate and Livefyre. Two of them are realtime and not free, two of them are free (possibly not realtime). I just registered and integrate with DISQUS (is not realtime, ops sorry, Ro Gupta say it’s real time but for VIP only). I am gonna see some days, how it goes. If it doesn’t go as I expect, I’ll write my own.

Happy New Year to you all!

Now you see, it is already been a year. They call nerd or geek in silicon valley but I still don’t know what they call in Nepal, a year of life passed being that.

Looking back year – one year of career as Technical Manager at IT Outsourcing Asia was great time. With lots of ups and downs, now we reach at a point and I am happy to be part of it. Leading people is always tough job but leading nerds by nerd is far more tough. It is hard sometimes, but still go smooth when we have nice colleague.

phpBricks is great thing, I have made this year. Rest making client’s project success is remained on my focus. Diving into Liferay, JIRA, Magento, Ubuntu box and couple of open source softwares were interesting part.

I don’t think I made a milestone decision in 2009, I would say I am in process. In the later part of year, I liking location based social network, real time data streams, web mining and travel related stuffs. Going back to university is priority in 2010. There are lot of things hanging on mind, starting one them is 2nd priority.

In 2009, beautiful and nice people were always there to cheer good time and to cheer up on bad times. All they are part of life, without them it is incomplete. Thank you guys from bottom of my heart! There’s bitter truth also, sometimes best people fake you. You can do nothing but just fuck them back and move on, probably the best solution. Life remained cool, lot of parties and fun time were there. I believe I am gonna miss it in 2010! and I want miss it although that’s gonna be tough. I see people changing and time changing. It will not sound odd to say I am part of it. Whatever, the year of 2010 will be more promising, it should be!

Although when mail sent, it screwed up layout in different mail client. A night just passed trying different combination of HTML code and I slept without reaching solutions. Today morning, in quick view, I figure out that it was ‘Mime Mail CSS Compressor’ (Drupal Module). It sucks, how here’s I show you.

Mime Mail CSS Compressor alter code and add style=”width:100%”. It sucks.

Holiday started! Well it’s Dashai – a reason to be together, a reason to stop work and enjoy free mind. Some people are against of celebrating Dashai, some are celebrating, some say no tika, some do white tika. Does not matter how they do it, for me, it’s a day of unity. Due to geographical and economical reason, family members forced to live in different places. And, this is only day every body makes up mind to unite – eat together, talk, spend more relax life. As long as you want reason to be happy once in year, there shouldn’t debate, I don’t care it.

It is no difference for me, going village, living with eight bothers (yes, I said 8), parents, sister and grand parents together. Dasai is also about purchasing new clothes and giving gift each others. I still have not purchase anything, planning to go shopping today. I have to purchase something to my brothers. My sister is always special, she is only the girl (tittle girl) in our home. I am thinking to purchase gold ear ring to her, have not got any better idea yet. My friends also love her, they have some more gifts to her. I have to purchase big bag now.

There’s many way one celebrates Dashai, some people make it show business. Spending more then earning trait between Nepalese (who cares). But friends, all you make it large but don’t let it go extra large (limit the drinking, eating, playing and spending)

!! Happy Dashai !!!

Surprised with title? No worries! it sounds surprising for me too. Usually programmers write those piece of ‘Hello World!’ code at very beginning when they just start learning programming. So how it is possible to get paid $900 when u just know what actually the coding means.

But let me tell you fact, every programmer get paid for their ‘Hello World!’ code. Now you must have been puzzled knowing this fact. If you are programmer wrinkles must have been appeared in your face indicating your happiness. Folks, just don’t look $$ but look at other side too. It’s a fact that every programmer has to pass with pain. Pain? What!! Yes, Pain!!

A pain of study new things on every new day. Now you know what I mean huh! Yes, it’s my boring story of past month (July 09). Such boring that my some of nights went without sleeping…. yes! It’s not new for me, but still remarkable.

Actually whole month I spent studying new stuffs. At first I learn Ruby on Rails, then I study about software called JIRA made in Java, and finally Magento. In all three programs, I have written function and plugin to print ‘Hello Wrold’. Month over and pay-check is in hand. This is how I got $$ for ‘Hello world’ program. Besides that I developed couple proposal and couple of analysis but these were 10hrs job.

It is not just with me, it must have been same with all programming geeks. Everyone must have experience how painful to learn. Some may enjoy! For me, my eyes hurt, head burst, Pain in Ass (we use PIA for this term)… and so so. But I still can’t hate to learn….. I don’t know you guys love or hate.

If you are suffering from Auto Run Virus that comes with Pen Drive, that’s bad luck! Hardly a few anti-virus can scan. That’s because most of virus (Trojan) are produce in the region which is hard to detect for US/EU based anti-virus. It was same for me until a friend of mine suggested about me Autorun Killer.

Autorun Killer is designed to clean Auto Run virus from Pen Drive. You can download it from http://tinyurl.com/maeww4. So far I found it excellent. It automatically scan Pen Drive once you plug into USB port. Try it and be safe.

Note: Remember Autorun will clean only Autorun.vbs virus. It doesn’t clean other trojan and virus that come with Pen Drive. So for other type of trojan, use Anti Virus software. I recommend NOD32. It cleans lot of South-Asian trojan.
