Google Wave is more fun when you have others to wave with, so please nominate people you would like to add. Keep in mind that this is a preview so it could be a bit rocky at times.

Buzzz.. in search world – “Google is launching major update after three years, Caffeine”. After buzz of Microsoft deal with Yahoo and FriendFeed going Facebook, Google announced Caffeine Beta – faster, more accurate, larger index and most important real-time indexing of breaking news. You can test google caffeine, a upgrade version of google search engine at http://www2.sandbox.google.com/ or read analytical blog by Ben Parr at Mashable http://tinyurl.com/gcaffeine.

But interesting thing to watch in the battle-field is realtime search. Currently there are four players – Google, Bing, Facebook and Twitter. Facebook and Twitter provide realtime search based on status update which are more relevant then those of Google and Bing. After bringing friendfeed home, Facebook seems planning become more stronger. Despite that Bing doesn’t shows realtime result on its search result, it power Facebook’s realtime search.

No doubt with rise of SNS, people changed way they communicate each-other so as search trend is changing. Many people still use organic search engines but trend is growing for real-time search. But still real-time-search if part of search and serve limited objectives. Moreover it is not fine tuned for accuracy despite of some trendy topics (in Twitter). None beat google for accuracy, but we still have to see what the Google Caffeine has for realtime (with accuracy).

Few days back, I posted blog and noticed listed search result in 4th in Google. Again I posted blog about Magento Column Grid overriding today and I google, found result listed in 1st position. So Google really started serve serve real-time search. See Image below:

Today, I google wiht ‘JIRA as Support System’ keyword to see whether the page is still in same location. But I could see it no, where (here is link of blog). So Google give high rank to fresh content. Newer the content, higher the ranking.

Update: It’s been 24 hours that I posted blog, result is still in first location. It means Google consider as realtime for 24 hour old post. You can try googling ‘magento showing image in grid’ keyword and see result.

From twitter threat in search business, now Google started serve some real-time search results. Yesterday I posted blog on ‘JIRA as Support System’ and today morning when I was googling on JIRA I found my page is listed in fourth on SERP. See figure it pointed 9 hours before. I must have appeared already but I got to see it after 9 hours. So google started real-time search. That’s WOW. Thanks googler, wel-done!!

I quickly check google analytics, it also offering up-to-date reports. On other hand I check bing.com, Microsoft’s highly publicized search engine, I find my page no-where.

Update: Now, I am checking after 3 hours and still result is in 4th and says 12 hours ago, see image below.
